The third generation of Renault Twingo is not doing very well. Although in a first moment when it arrived at the market the sales began well, in a little time began to fall. Renault is fully rethinking what the fourth generation of its small urban model will look like, and in the meantime, the only way to stimulate its sales and capture the attention of potential buyers is through limited and special editions. This is the way that the French brand is following with Twingo, especially in some markets like France. In this sense comes the new Renault Twingo Red Night Edition. The line of the French model incorporates this week a new special edition that is characterized by showing an exterior image and a specific interior finish. The result is a Renault Twingo with a more sporty and elegant look. The exterior of the Renault Twingo Red Night Edition will be available in three colors. All of them will be combined with a red sideband, as well as the special edition badges. To this must be added the stylish 16-inch alloy wheels.

The interior comes with a more refined environment thanks to the combination of leather upholstery with red and black fabric chevy silverado car covers. The door sill plates are also specific as are the rugs. In addition, new finishes in bright black and red have been added that refer to the name of the edition. Taking as a starting point the level of finish Intens, the standard equipment was improved without this affecting in a relevant way the price of the Renault Twingo Red Night Edition. Among the most important equipment are: automatic climate control, R & Go radio, fog lights with swivel function, rain sensor and automatic lights, 16-inch alloy wheels, rear parking assistance, leather and fabric upholstery, among others. Regarding the mechanical part, the Red Night series will be available with different mechanics, among which are the SCe engine of 70 hp and the Energy TCe of 90 hp. Both with possibility of manual or automatic transmission.

Renault Twingo Red Night Edition prices in France:

  • SCe 70 – 14,900 euros
  • SCe 70 Stop & Start – 15,200 euros
  • SCe 70 EDC – € 16,100
  • Energy TCe 90 – 15,900 euros

2018 – RENAULT ZOE

The news started as a rumor a few days ago and has now been formally announced by the French brand, the Renault Zoe with a new 110 hp engine will be one of the novelties that the brand will take to the Geneva Motor Show 2018, which will be celebrated next month of March. So far the most powerful version of Zoe developed 90 hp and now Renault introduces this new version with 110 hp engine, maintaining the maximum torque in 225 Nm. According to the first official information will have a range of close to 300 kilometers according with the new standard of consumptions and emissions WLTP, which means a number quite faithful to the one obtained under normal conditions of use.

The Renault Zoe R110 also debuts a new body color called ‘Violet Blueberry’, as well as some enhancements to the infotainment system that benefits from Android Auto compatibility, which allows you to sync a mobile device with that operating system and link compatible applications with the touch screen of the car. The new exterior color combines with several interior elements in the same tone, like some trimmings and upholstery. With six years on his back, the current generation of Renault Zoe begins to feel the years pass and probably Renault is already thinking about a facelift that can keep you updated until you decide on the arrival of your new generation. But for now it was the time of this mechanical improvement, whose detailed information we can know after its debut that will happen in a few weeks at the Hall of Geneva, with its marketing starting soon after the Swiss event. For the time being the French manufacturer did not say what the prices of this new version will be.

Taking advantage of the movie premieres of the movie ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’, there are many companies that want to take advantage of the attraction offered by the saga and the universe created by George Lucas. The automotive industry is no stranger to this, and in recent times there are several special and limited editions of different vehicles that have come to the dealers loaded with motives of the Star Wars series. Especially in the United States. At the recent Los Angeles Show 2017, Nissan took advantage of the fact that the new film’s opening of the saga was near and at its booth showed a lot of elements related to the most iconic characters in the Star Wars universe. The last to enter this scheme was the French Renault with its limited edition of the Renault Zoe. The Renault Zoe Star Wars Edition will have a production of 1,000 copies and will be unique to the French market. It is based on the last update received by the model, that is, it has the 41 kWh battery.

Just take a look at the images below to see all the differentiating details that the Star Wars edition of the Renault Zoe tells. It has stickers on both the hood and the ceiling and the back cover with motifs of the Millennium Falcon, the mythical craft piloted by the characters Han Solo and Chewbacca. It is also possible to appreciate the silhouette of an Alliance ship. Inside, the main novelties can be summarized in some details in purple for the panel, air vents, speakers, rugs and shift lever, as well as identification signs on the door sills. The limited edition comes from the base of the Intens trim level, so it is a very complete standard equipment. Features a Bose audio system, Wi-Fi connection, rear view camera and 17-inch alloy wheels. The vehicle will be available in three shades: white, gray and black. It can already be booked, although deliveries will only start next March.

Renault Sport normally offers a special treatment for models such as Renault Mégane and Renault Clio, but now the competition department of the French brand shows its work in a truck. Named T High Renault Sport Racing, this truck is based on the T Series model of Renault Trucks – which belongs to the Volvo Group – and was decorated with the colors of the F1 team of Renault Sport. The black and yellow color scheme leaves no doubt that we are facing a special edition, but the yellow wheels, the sports seats of Recaro and the various yellow details are the sign that we are facing an element of the Renault Sport family. Details such as the front grille, side mirrors and all emblems were painted in glossy black, ensuring a more aggressive image and a more sporty spirit. The same treatment continues in the cabin, where the frames and the seams in yellow contrast with a carbon panel and black leather seats. Regarding mechanics, this car hides a huge 13-liter six-cylinder diesel engine that generates 520 horsepower – almost twice the Mégane RS – and impressive 2,550 Nm of maximum torque. The performance of the truck was not disclosed, but Renault Trucks plans to manufacture only 99 numbered units of the T High Renault Sport Racing.

Finally today Renault officially introduced the new Renault Alaskan. This is his first one-ton pick-up, which arrives in its production format without substantial changes from the prototype presented last year. The French brand chose the city of Medellin, Colombia, for the world premiere of the new Renault Alaskan, a model that inaugurates a segment in which Renault had never participated. Latin America is a strong market for vehicles of this type and it is Renault’s great bet for the Latin American market.

In visual terms, the differences from the conceptual model are minimal. The front has kept the same design, with logical changes in the optical and bumper groups, while on the sides have replaced the mirrors with more conventional design, as well as alloy wheels and frames. At the rear the door design was retained, while the lanterns gained a more conventional design with a luminous signature and the bumper a chrome finish. For the time being its dimensions and load capacity are unknown, but it is to be expected that they are not very different from the Nissan Navara NP300 on which it is based. The mechanical offer will have a 2.3 literdCi diesel engine, which will be offered in 160 and 190 hp versions, as well as petrol versions based on a 2.5 liter 160 hp engine. The engines can be associated with either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed automatic, in single-wheel or four-wheel versions. In all cases a limited slip differential will be offered, which helps improve traction. Units equipped with full drive will have the differential lock.

Renewed slightly last March at the Geneva Motor Show, the Renault Captur took changes that modernized its exterior appearance and improved some details that left it behind its rivals. Now, the French crossover climbs a step by offering the special and limited series ‘Iridium’, currently available only in France from 22,000 euros, which has a special decoration of the body in the roof and the rearview mirror housings, a finish in the dark graycolor on the lower door guards and 17-inch alloy wheels with black diamond finish.

For the body, there are up to 8 color combinations in two shades:

Inside this special edition of Captur, the same dark graycolor of the door guards is at the base of the shift lever, the seats are upholstered in fabric and Alcantara, enhancing the feeling of quality and luxury, while at the same time Door sills feature a polished frieze bearing the Renault name and the rugs feature the ‘Iridium’ emblem. Based on the level of Intens equipment, it also has automatic climate control, rear parking sensors and Full LED Pure Vision headlights, and includes a Bose sound system of six high-fidelity speakers and subwoofer, plus the navigation system ‘Media Nav Evolution ‘with a 7.0-inch touch screen,’ Nav & Go ‘navigation application with all Western Europe mapping, Bluetooth and USB connection. Renault Captur’s Iridium special series is offered with two gasoline engines – the 0.9-liter 90-hp Energy 1.2-liter 120-hp Engines – and the 1.5-liter Energy DCi with 90 and 110 hp, with manual transmission six-speed automatic or EDC in the case of the most powerful gasoline version and the diesel 90 hp.
